Embedded Firmware Engineer (Contract)
Location: West London (On-site, with potential for 1 day/week remote after initial ramp-up)
Contract Type: 3-Month Contract – Outside IR35 (Extension Likely)
Rate: Competitive Day Rate

Join a fast-moving engineering team developing innovative, custom electronic solutions across multiple sectors, including MedTech. This contract offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge product development, building robust embedded systems that meet stringent industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Firmware Development: Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for MCUs such as STM32, TMS570, nRF52, and ARM Cortex.

RTOS Implementation: Develop low-level drivers and real-time applications using FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, or ThreadX.

System Integration: Implement OTA firmware updates and integrate embedded Linux when required.

User Interface Development: Build intuitive GUIs using LVGL, QT, or TouchGFX.

Cloud Connectivity: Integrate cloud services to enhance system capabilities.

Testing & Compliance: Support hardware testing, debugging, and ensure solutions comply with IEC 62304 and other relevant standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Technical Expertise: Proven experience in firmware development for embedded systems, with strong knowledge of RTOS, embedded Linux, and Git.

Additional Skills: Experience with cloud integration and GUI development.

Education: Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

Desirable Experience: Previous work on medical devices and/or with wireless protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, or LPWAN.

Interview Process:

Initial screening call via Microsoft Teams.

Final interview conducted on-site.
