Head Scientist – Behavioural Neuroscience & Cardiometabolic Research

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Scientific Leadership: Define and execute comprehensive research strategies across diverse health and disease programs.
Research Excellence: Drive high-impact studies in behavioural neuroscience, cardiometabolic diseases, and oral health, ensuring scientific rigour and translational relevance.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Program Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with scientific and business objectives.
Scientific Representation: Act as a spokesperson for science internally and externally, engaging with key opinion leaders and strategic partners.
Scientific Communication: Present findings, updates, and strategic insights to stakeholders, ensuring clear and compelling communication.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background: PhD in Biological Sciences, with post-doctoral or equivalent experience.
Industry Expertise: 15+ years in pre-clinical research (in vivo, ex vivo, and/or in vitro), with deep expertise in behavioural neuroscience and/or cardiometabolism.
Breadth of Knowledge: Demonstrated experience across multiple research areas; pharmacology expertise is preferred.
Leadership Excellence: Proven record of leading cross-functional research teams and delivering results.
Strategic & Analytical Skills: Ability to make informed, strategic decisions in complex, evolving environments.
Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Please note: This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is exclusively in neurodegenerative or pathological disease models (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS). We are seeking scientists who have applied behavioural neuroscience tools in non-pathological contexts, such as cognition, emotion, adaptability, attention, or response to stress.
